I'm looking at a laptop (link below), and would similar to to know if a 1.66GHz Intel(R) CoreTM 2 Duo T5500 means that it have 2 processors, for a total of 3.32 GHz.
Also, is the computer an overall good one?

Answer:
Yes it have a processor with 2 cores on a single chip/die ...thereby giving you the processing power of 2 processors ..however it's 1.66GHz and Not 3.32GHz
Yes it's suitable ...but make sure you enjoy at least 512 MB or ideally at least possible 1GB RAM
No, it has one processor near 2 cores that each run at 1.66 GHz.
yes it have two processors. not two sockets, but two procs.
no it's not the equivalent of a single core running at 3.3 ghz.
but, it can do two things at the same time minus slowing down, something the single core can't.
its like 2 processors contained by 1 both running at 1.66ghz also, mac has a quad core one which is unbelievably powerful.
Ok the laptop has two cores not processors. so for adjectives things it has 1.66 GHz, but if you enjoy an app designed for dual core then it will use both, so it wont use 3.32 GHz it will use both of the cores for difrent things. if i be you i would buy this computer http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/specifica...
Its cheaper and more powerful.
