The strange this is when i put into the laptop it doesn't
start or recogise it..i own another battery which works fine.

your battry must be unsound if the other one works- buy another just surrounded by case. or transport it into somewhere and they will tell u what the problem is.
travel to circuit city get a common battery adapter if that doesn't work after the battery plug on the motherboard desires re soddered
It's the wrong battery for that laptop and you could damadge your laptop if you save putting it in...
