Backup your songs within iTunes next to an external hd?

Is near a way to backup your songs within iTunes on an external hd? (it asks for a cd/dvd, but since I have the smaller reworked copy of Macbook, it can't burn cd's or dvd's)

I just found the iTunes song folder surrounded by MyMusic and dragged and drop it onto my external hard drive god. Transferred them with no problem.
