Yes, and to pocket issue with Ted's answer, the AMD is a Hyper-transport which ease the resources. The Core Duo is a 2 chips system that also eases the resources, but at a better rate than the AMD. If the price is comparable, I would opt for the Intel, but, the AMD will execute well. (Most race wouldn't be able to report to the difference anyway.)
