Add parallel port on Dell laptop XPS M1210.No USB to Parallel though.?

Hi,get to have this parallel port, own software uses security dongle. This laptop does not hold PCMCIA either,is in attendance anything can plug in the express card slot to enjoy parallel port. The USB to parallels don't work.

Answer:

You might be out of luck. Some laptops own serial and parallel ports built into their docking (port replicator) stations but these ports actually use USB technology for creating the ports. Sure they may own 9 or 25 pin interfaces but the PC sees these ports as USB devices.

Try calling tech support of the software vendor. I have a similar situation with some software that I used at work. The wholesaler actually have a solution for my problem. apparently I wasn't the only one beside this issue.

Good luck,
