Answer:

These are newly the enclosures. They are designed to be used beside whatever easier said than done drive you already have. If you own a SATA 2.5 HDD but no where to plug it surrounded by, you'll need the SATA paddock. As far as which is better, it wont matter. USB 2.0 or Firewire is still slower than EIDE speeds.
It will issue, if you tower has a sata hook up for external sata drive, than you should seize approximatly 3 gb of transfer speed.
