1934? wht is dis?

what is 1394? i basically bought dell D400 latitude...found tht there be some kind of port 1394..



can u guyz communicate me wht is this used for?

Like the Universal Serial Bus (USB), IEEE 1394 is a serial data verbs protocol. They both support hot swapping—the ability to incorporate and remove devices from a computer while it is running. But IEEE 1394 has advantages. USB 1.1, the most commonly used today, have a data verbs rate of 12 Mbps. IEEE 1394 has a verbs rate of 400 Mbps.

IEEE 1394 is also called firewire. Its have a faster throughput than USB 1.1 but a bit slower than USB 2.0

Most people years ago close to they do USB 2.0 now. Its in recent times not really used anymore since USB is used for almost everything.
