Acer Aspire 5050 easier said than done disc problem ? I installed manuf. system cd; with the sole purpose agreed RAM disk.?

When prompted to insert reclamation disk, received error message 00xa0000000. I have a partitioned hd(supposed to, anyway) and tried to boot from Vista. Started installation for Windows, afterwards stopped, error: no OS found. Also, when turning on the laptop it says PCI efficient ethernet cable problem; check connection. I talk to Acer; they said it was a problem beside the hdd. They want me to sent it to TX at my expense; is there anything else I can try? Please aid!

Answer:

It sounds like your thorny drive has former. If Acer is not going to warranty the computer, which it sounds like that are not, I would determine on your own whether or not the drive is discouraging. You can replace the drive your self for as little as $50. If you need a unyielding drive I would recommend Western Digital or Seagate.

I have programmed some hard drive utilities that will assist you.

When looking for a notebook drive do not verbs about a drive for a Acer notebook. The standard for notebook is 2.5 x 9.5 mm. By looking for an Acer drive you will spend more that twice than if you just bought a dutiful drive.

If you have more question, like how to remove the drive please surface free to contact me.
